Study

We offer lectures and workshops in the form of friendly meetings in small groups of enthusiasts. We have designed the curriculum to cover various levels of advancement. Our goal is to help you prepare your first individual exhibition. Meetings covering basic technical knowledge guide students from the initial idea to its implementation, through post-production to many other levels of initiation. The final project of the first year of study allows you to present your sophisticated series of photographs in a gallery.

First year

  • the academic year runs from October to June
  • the first meeting will take place on October 18-19, 2025
  • classes are held a maximum of twice a month, on Saturdays and Sundays
  • the year ends with a final exam session consisting of three photography workshops (in the form of a final assessment of the work) and an exhibition
  • during the year, 200 hours of classes are planned, divided into:
    • a minimum of 12 meetings, each consisting of 16 teaching hours
    • a separate exam meeting
    • 32 teaching hours of additional, compulsory independent work by students
  • the school’s work system is based on the program of the University of Arts in Poznań
  • during your studies, you will build your own professional portfolio
  • you can also treat the WSF study as preparation for the University of Arts entrance exams
  • if you are interested in expanding your skills with a second year of study (this is not mandatory) you will receive a diploma from the Wielkopolska School of Photography in the profession of: Artist, specialization – Photography and film, specialization – Artistic photography

Second year

  • the academic year runs from November 2025 to May/June 2026
  • classes are held a maximum of twice a month, on Saturdays and Sundays
  • the second semester ends with a final exam in three photography studios – in the form of a final assessment of the work
  • During the course, 156 hours of classes with WSF lecturers are planned, divided into:
    • a minimum of 11 meetings of approximately 13 teaching hours each
    • a separate exam meeting
  • a work system based on the program of the University of Arts in Poznań
  • the course ends with a diploma defense – the completion and defense of work carried out throughout the year of study in a studio chosen by the student (the choice will be made during the third meeting)
  • during your studies, you will build your own professional portfolio
  • you can also treat WSF studies as preparation for exams at the University of Arts
  • you will obtain the profession of artist, specialization – photography and film, specialization – artistic photography

Additionally

  • with us, you will obtain the following profession:

Artist, specialization – Photography and film, specialization – Artistic photography (applies to two years of study).

  • completion of the school is documented by a diploma from the Wielkopolska School of Photography confirming its completion
  • photo exhibition at the end of the first and second year
  • photography studio rental for students included in the school fees – two studios available
  • the school fees also include access to a darkroom and a computer lab
  • optional additional outdoor sessions – for those interested
  • you can complete only one year, in which case you will receive a certificate of completion for the first year
  • You do not need to have advanced equipment, contact us and we will answer your questions.
  • Professional staff – lecturers are graduates of the University of Arts in Poznań and Opava in the Czech Republic.
